Robert Metcalfe is a postdoctoral scholar in economics at the University of Chicago. His research is directed toward developing and testing economic and behavioral theory using field experiments. He is currently conducting and managing research projects across a number of domains, including energy, taxation, health care, and education. Prior to joining the University of Chicago, he was a research fellow in economics at the University of Oxford (Merton College), and previously worked in the U.K. government as an economist. He received his Ph.D. from Imperial College London.
