Selcuk Sirin is the J. K. Javits Professor at New York University. He studies the lives of marginalized children and youth and ways to increase professionals’ ability to better serve their needs. His recent research focuses on immigrant children in New York, Muslim youth in the U.S., and refugee children in Turkey and Norway. He is the author of multiple books in English and Turkish, including Turkey at the Crossroad: Freedom or Misery and Muslim American Youth. He also currently serves on the National Academies of Sciences Committee on Supporting the Parents of Young Children.
