Chiara Varazzani is an executive adviser in behavioral science at the Behavioral Economics Team of the Australian Government (BETA). Her areas of research include neuroeconomics, decision-making, motivation, productivity, and public policy. She has worked at the Behavioural Insights Team in London (aka the Nudge Unit) and for Influence at Work, Robert Cialdini’s consulting firm. She earned an M.S. in cognitive science from École Normale Supérieure and a Ph.D. in behavioral neuroscience from Sorbonne University.
