Omar Parbhoo is the managing director of civic engagement at ideas42, where he leverages behavioral insights to promote inclusive, sustained voter participation across the United States. His work spans from researching psychological barriers to voting to developing innovative solutions that support election officials, civic nonprofits, and other partners in the space. He also founded VoterCast, a platform that equips local election officials with tools and content for effective, evidence-based voter outreach. Previously, he served as a senior advisor at the U.S. Department of State, providing strategic guidance on post-conflict economic and democratic reforms. Omar holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from Louisiana State University and a Masters in international economics from UC San Diego. He continues his commitment to civic engagement outside of work by holding local office in Washington, D.C.
