Lessons from Building a Behavioral Science Initiative in City Government
Here are eight lessons we learned from building a behavioral science initiative in Philadelphia’s city government.
Anjali Chainani
Anjali Chainani is the director of policy and GovLabPHL at the Mayor’s Office in Philadelphia and a co-founder of the Philadelphia Behavioral Science Initiative. In 2016, she helped lead Philadelphia’s adoption of the beverage tax. She is a Results for America fellow and a Ph.D. candidate at the University of the Sciences’ Mayes College for healthcare business and policy. Her dissertation research focuses on policy diffusion among local governments, using sugar-sweetened beverage tax policy as a case study.
