David Rand is an associate professor of psychology, economics, and management at Yale University. In his research, he combines a range of theoretical and experimental methods to explain high cooperation that typifies human societies and to promote cooperation in situations where it is lacking. He’s a member of the Yale Institute for Network Science, the Institution for Social and Policy Studies, Cognitive Sciences Program, and is the director of Yale University’s Human Cooperation Laboratory as well as the Applied Cooperation Team. He received his Ph.D. in systems biology from Harvard University.
