Neela Saldanha is an independent consultant, passionate about applying behavioral science to issues of development, particularly in the Global South. She currently advises organizations such as the Busara Center for Behavioral Economics and Surgo Foundation. Previously, she was the Founding Director of the Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) at Ashoka University, India. Priot to that, over 15 years, she led teams in strategy consulting, customer insight, branding, innovation and behavioral science in leading multinationals such as Nestle, Unilever, PepsiCo and Accenture in India and the U.S. Neela is also a Board Member of The Life You Can Save, the non-profit co-founded by philosopher Peter Singer, that advocates for effective giving to end global poverty. She has a Ph.D. in Marketing (Consumer Behavior) from The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta, India.
