Richard J. Davidson

Richard J. Davidson is the William James and Vilas Professor of Psychology and Psychiatry and Founder and Director of the Center for Healthy Minds at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. His research explores the neural bases of emotion and emotional style as well as methods to promote human flourishing. He is the author of the New York Times bestseller, The Emotional Life of Your Brain, and, most recently, Altered Traits: Science Reveals How Meditation Changes Your Mind, Brain, and Body (with Daniel Goleman). In 2006, Time Magazine named him one of “The 100 Most Influential People in the World."
